We have another feather in our cap. Serenity in the Steps has been recently awarded the prestigious 2017 Lingap Circle Award for our contribution and efforts in promoting and activating community-based drug rehabilitation programs.
The Lingap Circle Award is jointly given by Rapid Alternative Program Interventions for the treatment and prevention of illegal Drug dependency (RAPID) and SEAOIL. It recognizes the efforts in bridging leadership and exemplary service as a champion of community-based rehabilitation in the Philippines.
According to Mrs. Betty Fangasan, profiling is an essential first step in rehabilitation. She also stressed the importance of involving the afflicted family and the community in the process.
In an interview with the Philippine News Agency, Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan expressed that the City Government didn’t have the funds when they saw the drug problem but there were those who took the initiative to help.
Serenity in the Steps, through PD Junjun Abella, was also awarded a Plaque of Appreciation by the Police Regional Office – Cordillera (PRO-COR) for supporting and assisting the campaign leading to a Drug-Free Cordillera. Serenity maintains its work as one of the leading providers of Gentler Solutions to Addiction serving people from anywhere around the globe.
